    Q) What do you feel is your biggest attribute as a player ( can be Physical / Mental aspect?
    A) I bring versatility, the athlete that can do it all. I'm that guy that wants the ball in his hands late in the game. I'm mentality focus during the game in well prepared at all times. I'm great in space with the ball in my hands

I mean who determines if a player is a bust ?

what qualifies one as such ?

I get the premise that it is a player who fails to achieve the desired outcome on the field of play at the next level ...

( here comes that BIG little word ) ok cool I understand and agree to a degree , BUT

we are then using a set outcome of greatness as the standard for a player that has only been projected to meet any such standard ...

projections are perhaps the most unreliable thing in sports .

there literally is not a tool in the world that can accurately project greatness

we look at tendencies , athletic prowess , size , speed and accomplishments at a lower level of competition as the factors into an equation that fails identify future growth on much more of anything than someone gut feeling

then when that gut feeling of said evaluators is wrong instead of blaming the evaluators we instead label the player ( who clearly spent his entire life trying to be great ) to even be in the position to be

My logic is this every year we have 3-4-5 QBs that everyone drools all over themselves about prior to the draft

of those 3 to 5 QBs how many of them 3-4-5 years down the road have panned out ?

20% or less end up being the guy everyone seemed to think they would be

you want to double down on the currency spent ( 1st round picks ) for a shot at getting a guy who has a 20-30% chance or less of being what you thought he would be ? go for it I will laugh at your efforts more often than you will give me reason to applaud them ...

2015 QBs went 1 and 2 overall neither have set the world on fire in the wins department

2014 Three QBs drafted in the first round and Bortles in the only 1 with his original team

2013 EJ Manual was only QB drafted in 1st round where is he at ?

2012 Luck ,RG3 , Ryan Tannehill and Branden Weeden ... how many playoff wins do they have combined ?

2011 Cam Newton , Jake Locker ,Blaine Gabbert ,

so after seeing Tomlin had a meal with the young man I decided it was time to dig into some tape on him .

had read reports he was to thin , stiff in the hips , lacks physicality etc etc etc

also read his pro day he showed to be very fluid in during drills ....

so to the tape I go because clearly you can not be stiff in the hips and fluid in the hips ( somebody is wrong )

mind you I just have an hour or so into looking this kid over a couple abbreviated games and a couple highlight films ..

this is my take away ....

he is long and lean , ( did put on 10 pounds from junior to sr year ) but would like to see a few more pounds added he has the frame for it at 6'3 -200

he is not afraid of contact but does have a tendency at times to arm tackle ( he wont get away with that in the NFL ) but he isn't afraid to square up and hit you either so it is a coach able tendency ..

he is a collegiate long jumper for gods sake how stiff could he be was my thought going in and I came away feeling

This was a post on another forum that I frequent and felt it was an outstanding view of how many fans feel about kneeling / sitting during our National Anthem and before our Flag that represents the men and women who have fought bled and often times died to protect our rights to protest among others ...

Why is it that the players can protest anything they want about anything they want, but someone posting his displeasure about players protesting on a Steelers message board is being attacked for taking a stand?

The ultimate protest is for the people that pay for the whole fucking NFL experience to walk away from the game and voice their anger about the direction the game has been taking from a political standpoint.

To those of you who believe the players have the right to protest, how many among us that aren't self-employed are allowed to conduct a political protest of any kind when working for someone else? These guys have microphones shoved in their faces constantly. They can

by Military Law AV was and is required to stand at attention for the Anthem and Flag if the team can not support him then they will just have to get over themselves ....... James Harrison and Mike Tomlin included

As a Three tour of duty US Army Ranger ( and reservist ) the big left Tackle had more on his mind than what a group of men who never defended anything other than a blade of grass had to say and I applaud him for it even if only done through obligation ( conjecture )

Troops learn during basic training and officer training — their first introduction to the military — about saluting when the anthem is played and the flag is raised. The ritual is referred to as the "call to colors." Military rules obligate servicemen and women to salute when they hear the anthem if they are in uniform. Those who happen to be in an area where the flag is being raised must salute the flag. If they don't see the flag around them, they're expected to stop and salute in the

    A) Well I went to southern miss first out of high school,I transferd to Alabama state beachside of family sickness dealing with my mom

    Q) What is your playing weight and do you think that needs to change once at the NFL level ?

    A) My playing weight is 355 when I get to the NFL it will all depend on what the coaches will like for me to be at.

    Q) Watching your tape several things jump off the screen size , agility , power and for a big man some speed ... what sort of training do you do to keep the speed at your size ?

    A) Different training I do for to keep my speed fluke this for a big guy is the 15 minute treadmill work out I got from one of my coaches.

    Q) I am a fan and watch a lot of film , when doing so I use comparisons to

    Q) What schools recruited you out of HS James ?

    A) Coming out of high school I had a lot of interest due to combines and regional camps I
attended but academics was an issue. I didn't qualify for the NCAA Clearinghouse with my SAT
scores before National Signing day so everyone moved on from me. The teams that were high
interest and on my list in order were Old Dominion,Towson,Buffalo,Rhode Island,JMU and
WVU. I had a visit to WVU and enjoyed it and loved their fans but at that moment they wanted
me to be a DB and be a Walk-On, I wasn't interested in that at all because I wanted a
scholarship and be a WR. But if I knew I would be a DB back then I would've

4.38-40 - 41.5 vertical both recorded at his pro day
Southern Miss record with 19 passes defended in 2015

Scouts raved about his explosiveness and overall physical ability but not many in the draft world are giving him much due respect .

I believe this is one of many cases where there is a disconnect in what teams are seeing and what the so called " experts" are not .

Today we are going to try and bridge the gap a little bit from the two perspectives and let you learn a little more about the prospect.

Here is what I have learned about the man prior to this interview .

He has the speed and quick twitch you look for
He is a willing tackler and will stick his head in there to aid you in run defense
He is big enough to play outside , size may not be ideal but it's close enough and when you couple that with his vertical he is plenty long enough
He will challenge the catch point of the ball in the air and not just cover the man
    He has good change

    Q) what are your true measurements , I hate using team sites because they are often unreliable

    Q) What major programs recruited you coming out of High School ?

    A) Some people may not know I only played 1 year of High School Football which was my senior year.
I did pretty good as was decently recruited. I was offered a scholarship from 2 D1 programs; Arkansas State &
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. I also was being offered a preferred walk on spot by the Razorbacks, University of Arkansas.
I was also being recruited by ULM, Louisiana Tech, Southeast Missouri and UCA.
I also had a bunch of D2 offers and talked with some Juco schools as well.
Coming out of high school and only playing 1 year of football
I didn't have the confidence and trust in my abilities to play major D1 football and really didn't know what a Juco was
so I went with D2 Oklahoma Panhandle State University. I chose them
