Well, it's clear they're focusing on putting people in the secondary that can:
1) Get their hands on the ball,
2) Provide run support, and
3) Tackle ball carriers well
Considering the secondary the past few seasons I can't complain about the strategy. And after the initial shock I'm okay with the pick, though I feel like he might have been available a round later. This also seems like a continued rebuke on their thought process going after Jarvis Jones. This guy has a clearly good skillset, and did well at the combine and the workouts.
I guess we're saying here, "It's okay that we're lagging a half round behind in the value charts, because we're picking players to establish an identity."
Agree'd! I get the sense that they are looking for a ball hawking, big hitting secondary, hoping that front 7's pressure forcing a lot of INTs and not needing to cover for very long.
